laucnched samsung galaxy fold 2

Previous Galaxy Fold 2 release date rumors pointed to a launch in the first half of 2020, which is a rather vague timeline. However, the latest reports suggest it could land in February. That's a claim we've heard from multiple sources, with the most likely date being February 18.

However, other sources suggest it could be announced in April, so we're not sure yet, but the first half of 2020 is looking likely in any case.

Although much isn't known about the core hardware that Samsung could use to power the Galaxy Fold 2, we expect the phone to bring top-of-the-line flagship specs once it's unveiled in the market. As such, the Galaxy Fold 2 could bring with it a Galaxy 865 SoC at the heart of it and pair it to upwards of 8GB of RAM and at least 128GB of storage in its entry variant.Much like the Galaxy Fold, the Galaxy Fold 2 won't come cheap. Reports suggest the phone could come closer to the $2000 mark, with the Foldable flip phone from Samsung retailing as the more affordable fordable device in the line-up at around the $1500 mark.

One Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 rumor suggests that the phone will have a 6.7-inch screen that folds across the horizontal axis (where the original Fold has the hinge on the vertical axis). When folded shut, the screen is hidden on the inside as with the original, and there’s once again said to be a secondary display, but this time one of just 1-inch.

For reference, the original Galaxy Fold has a 7.3-inch main screen and a 4.6-inch secondary one, so if this is accurate then both screens would be smaller on the Fold 2. As such it sounds like a bit of a downgrade – so we’d take this with a pinch of salt, though in making a smaller foldable Samsung might be able to reduce the cost.
